On behalf of the citizens of Parker, I would like to welcome you to our city! We pride ourselves in providing the community with a friendly, safe, and progressive place to work, live and play. We are committed to providing exceptional citizen services at all times. Parker has a first-rate volunteer ambulance and fire departments. We hope that while you are here, you will notice our small town hospitality and will enjoy our wide range of cultural and recreational services.
Children are an important part of our community. Parker has an excellent school system as well as community activities for our youth. Summer recreation for children include a public swimming pool, softball, baseball, and soccer programs. A skateboard park is available and the city park is a great place to have family gatherings. A new bike path allows old and young alike to utilize the area for walking and biking.
A multi-phase renovation and addition to our current athletic complex is underway.
The Turner County Fair is part of Parker’s proud heritage as well as an event that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Parker is a progressive city that is embracing the prospects of growing residential and business districts. Several new housing developments have lots available for home building. An upgrade to our electrical system was completed in 2005 as well as improvements to our water and sewer lines are currently being planned. The ParkerMultigenerationalCenter is a facility that houses the Parker Medical Clinic, Hearts ‘N Mind preschool and the Parker Senior Citizens.
